April Valentine
First and second grade teacher, Grove Patterson Academy, Toledo, Ohio
April Valentine teaches first and second grade in Toledo Public Schools. She has been a teacher for 28 years and loves her work! Second grade reading is her favorite to teach. She earned both her Bachelors and Masters degree in Elementary Education at the University of Cincinnati. April thoroughly enjoyed working on the Reading Universe Project and looks forward to using it in her work with students.. On a personal note, she most loves spending time with her husband, Deon, twin daughters, Lauren and London, and visiting the ocean every summer.
